Feminine, glamorous, rare, beautiful - the list of superlatives could go on and on. The top half is comprised of 12 old mine cut and rose cut diamonds featuring two sweeping foliate motifs, This is linked, via two 18k gold trace chains, to single old mine cut diamond of approximately half a carat, also mounted in a stylised foliate motif.
There is a hoop on the bottom of the pendant, so this can be worn - and is still effective - upside down.
Cut - Old mine / miner cut diamond and rose cut diamonds
Colour - H.
Clarity - The large drop diamond is VS1. The others range from VS2 to SI1, but all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat - The large diamond is approximately 0.50 carat. The remaining diamonds add up to an estimated 0.80 carat, so a total approximate weight of 1.30 carat
Circa - 1810.
Condition - Excellent.
Measurements - From top to bottom, including the drop, is 52mm. 23mm wide. Chain, which is not original to the piece, is 16".
Metal - The chain is fully hallmarked 18k gold. The chain linking the brooch drop diamond is 18ct gold. All the diamonds are set in silver.
