We are a local, independent and family run business with a long family history spanning four generations of furniture and home accessory retail dating back nearly 100 years. Father and son team Steve and Ken have over 50 years of combined experience in all aspects of the furniture industry; from the manufacture and design of new furniture right through to sourcing and retail of antique and second hand items.
The Hunwick name has been well known in Colchester for outstanding customer service, a unique and often unusual product selection and superb value for money for nearly a century and this is a tradition which is still being kept alive today. Hunwick Interiors has been named after Ken's Great grandfather, Alfred, who arrived in Colchester from Kelvedon around 1920 and set up the first furniture, home accessory and 'lino' showrooms in Eld Lane, Colchester. Over the years since there have been many changes in both Colchester as a town and in a wider sense the furnishing industry as a whole, but in many ways the core features of what we are striving to achieve today are the same values pursued by Alfred Hunwick all those years ago.
